  • 1 cup fresh shiso leaves
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 pinch salt

Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Blender
  • Shallow dish

Method

  1. Step 1: In a small saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved. Once dissolved, remove from heat and let it cool.
  2. Step 2: In a blender, combine the chopped shiso leaves, cooled sugar syrup, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth.
  3. Step 3: Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer.
  4. Step 4: After 30 minutes, stir the mixture with a fork to break up any ice crystals. Repeat this process every 30 minutes for about 2-3 hours, until the sorbet is fully frozen and has a fluffy texture.
  5. Step 5: Once ready, scoop the sorbet into serving bowls and enjoy the refreshing taste!

Notes

To keep your sorbet fresh, store it in an airtight container in the freezer. It should last for about a week.
