Ingredients
  

For the Japanese Baked Sea Bream
  • 1 whole sea bream cleaned and scaled
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sake
  • 1 tbsp mirin
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 inch ginger sliced
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon slices for garnish

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Step 2: Rinse the sea bream under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Step 3: Season the inside and outside of the fish with salt and pepper.
  4. Step 4: In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, sake, mirin, and sesame oil.
  5. Step 5: Place the ginger and green onions inside the cavity of the fish.
  6. Step 6: Brush the soy sauce mixture over the outside of the fish.
  7. Step 7: Place the fish on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Step 8: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.
  9. Step 9: Remove from the oven and garnish with lemon slices before serving.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
