Ingredients

  • Gyoza wrappers
  • Filling of your choice
  • Water

Method

  1. Step 1: Place a gyoza wrapper on a clean, flat surface. Make sure it's nice and smooth.
  2. Step 2: Add a small amount of filling (about 1 teaspoon) to the center of the wrapper. Remember, less is more here!
  3. Step 3: Dip your finger in water and moisten the edges of the wrapper. This is your secret glue!
  4. Step 4: Fold the wrapper in half, enclosing the filling, to create a half-moon shape. Gently press to seal.
  5. Step 5: Pinch the top center of the wrapper to ensure it stays sealed.
  6. Step 6: Starting from one end, create pleats by folding and pinching the edges toward the center, ensuring the filling is securely enclosed.
  7. Step 7: Continue pleating until you reach the other end of the gyoza. This is where the magic happens!
  8. Step 8: Repeat the process with the remaining wrappers and filling. Enjoy the rhythm of folding!

Notes

To store uncooked gyoza, place them in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze them. Cooked gyoza can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
